Warwick University Graduate Opportunities and Placements 2018/19

Warwick, England, United Kingdom Full-time

Quick Release works with the World’s top automotive companies and their suppliers to deliver product data management solutions and change management consultancy, with clients including TATA, Ford, JLR, Emerald, BMW and Aston Martin. We currently have over 200 team members working on projects across numerous client locations in Europe and North America, and we continue to grow year on year.

Product Data Management (PDM) sits at the core of our work.  We work almost exclusively on-site, with our analysts and consultants embedded within the client's team in order to deal with any technical and data orientated challenges they face. As such it’s essential that every team member is individually able to uphold and represent QR_ strengths and values, building relationships with clients and holding their own in discussions, meetings and presentations, and be seen to be making a difference on a daily basis…

Excellent technical and data skills are essential for our core PDM work, together with outstanding communications, confidence and an energy and enthusiasm for work and life, visible to all those we work with. A STEM/MINT degree is preferred but is not essential providing you can demonstrate strong technical ability combined with the resourcefulness, character and energy that we’re looking for.

At the top end of our spectrum of services we offer full consultancy to automotive OEMs, improving the way that they use their data and interact with stakeholders across projects. Our consultants combine the best of QR’s technical, problem-solving and programming capabilities with up-to-date project management methodologies, outstanding knowledge of the industry and a network of industry contacts,

As a modern and caring employer with a strong company culture we aim to maintain team members' innate energy and passion for life and work. We go to great lengths to make Quick Release an interesting, exciting and pleasant place to work, so apart from the work and training opportunities we have regular team events and any number of clubs, projects and initiatives. I'm pleased to say that our Glassdoor reviews seem to suggest we're succeeding on this front.

We have a very close relationship with the University of Warwick, sponsoring Hackathon and Sprint events at the Uni, as well as providing PDM course material and offering many employment opportunities. We have a significant number of team members who are Warwick Alumni.

We are currently looking for students with potential to undertake a placement year with Quick Release, especially those who put value on delivering technical excellence, instinctive customer service and genuine team fellowship. We will also be recruiting upwards of 20 graduates in 2018/19 for projects in the UK, US, Germany and Asia, and would especially love to hear from you if you're a US citizen looking to return to home shores on graduation!

Any position with Quick Release is a fully immersive experience involving early responsibility and a fairly steep learning curve, but with the support, training and tools you need to succeed.

Typically, in your first year on the job, or in a placement, you can expect to become a releasing specialist; coordinating a team to deliver results in a large multi-national OEM (listed above). You will be fully integrated into our company, with a culture of openness, support and problem sharing, so help and advice from experienced colleagues and directors will always be available to you.

Whilst not core engineering, the role is set within an engineering environment and comprises elements of data management, project management, business administration and consultancy. The level of ownership you have over a project can be flexible and ultimately determined by your own development. We also have opportunities for you to develop your programming skills with our Special Projects Team, or you can look to get involved with any number of Business Working Groups which look to develop different areas and functions of the business.

We like to think of ourselves as a modern, caring employer and we have a company culture that both undergraduates and graduates seem to enjoy immensely. We aim to maintain that innate energy and passion for life and go to great lengths and expense to make Quick Release an interesting, exciting and pleasant place to work.

Apart from the work and training opportunities, we have regular team events and any number of clubs, projects and initiatives. I'm pleased to say that our Glassdoor reviews seem to suggest we're succeeding on this front and we're very proud of our overwhelmingly positive team reviews.

  • Coordinating Engineering Changes.
  • Data Management & Analysis.
  • Maintenance of Parts Database (MS Excel) and Tracking Engineering Changes.
  • Liaison with a broad spectrum of people including Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Management

  • Be smart (Intelligence with common sense).
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have self-motivation and proactiveness - willing to take a lead on promptly tackling issues.
  • Understand customer needs (listening and empathy).
  • Work independently to understand complex problems.
  • Enjoy developing positive working relationships.
  • Be inquisitive, keen to learn and quick on the uptake.
  • Possess the ability to accurately analyse data.
